Carlo Cocozza
I am a biomolecular and computational archaeologist with core expertise in stable isotope analysis, large-scale data infrastructures, and advanced statistical modelling applied to archaeological questions. My research primarily focuses on reconstructing past diets, infant feeding practices, spatial mobility, and farming economies to better understand the complex dynamics of past human societies and their interactions with evolving environments. While my work has addressed these themes across several continents, my regional focus lies predominantly in Roman and Medieval Europe and the Mediterranean. I am equally invested in researching methodological advances in isotopic archaeology. In the context of the EUROpest project, my principal role is to design and implement the metadata infrastructure for the Knowledge Database, ensuring its robust management and structuring for future meta-analytical applications that will deliver the project’s core research aims.
